Ingredients

  • 1 kg tomatoes
  • 3 cups fine bulgur
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 onion
  • 1 tbsp kibbeh spice blend (marjoram, dried mint, chilli, rose, cumin)

Instructions

  1. 1.Soak the tomatoes in hot water for a few minutes to make them easy to peel.
  2. 2.Peel the tomatoes and cut them into small cubes.
  3. 3.Grind the onion, spices, and 1 cup of bulgur in a food processor.
  4. 4.Spread the tomatoes over 2 cups of bulgur.
  5. 5.Drizzle olive oil on top.
  6. 6.Mix all the ingredients well and knead by hand.
  7. 7.Transfer to a serving dish and finish with a drizzle of olive oil.
  8. 8.Prepare the tomato sauce by cooking tomatoes with tomato paste and spices.
  9. 9.Place kibbeh patties in the sauce and simmer on low heat for 30 minutes.
  10. 10.Garnish with green onions and serve hot with rice.
